“Sign languages, if not yet their users, are becoming sexy. “

Yeaaaaboiiii!

“Cultural hipness apparently awaits. But political hipness — ah that is not yet in sight.”

I feel like that last quote fits perfectly for those inactive ASL learners, the Deaf community wannabe’s who don’t really ‘get it’ or maybe they do but they don’t care enough to become an active ally. The ones who adopt that patronizing perspective. The ones who can FS #A-B-C’s all day, but fail at learning Deaf Culture. Those “Bypass”interpreters.

They serve to only consume, as such they are often times more parasitic than positive.

my weapon of choice is of course, my OWN thoughts and words, so i guess this should suffice. BANG! did i hit you yet?

i often tumble into this world when i'm on the look out for a cure to writer's block. sometimes it fails, often it opens the doors to my imagination.
